Device made of non-impregnated mountain larch, palisades white-peeled, with sloping end grain (wood protection measure), pendulum seat with soft bumper edge and steel insert. Cardan joint, hot-dip galvanised, consists of two sintered metal plain bearings, allows free swinging in all directions. Profiled disc for optimum pressure distribution and protection against water ingress. Retractable two-part screws. Back and forth movements with sintered metal plain bearings, self-lubricating. Chains made of hot-dip galvanised steel (V2A / V4A for an extra charge) welded before galvanising, short-linked, without eyelets on the connecting parts, easily replaceable and easy to shorten.

Effectively, the Scales are a raised see-saw with hanging seats. The up and down movement can be carried-out with a slight spring to it or with full force. At the same time, a hard bump is damped by means of a mechanical spring system. Sideways swinging and even swinging in small circles is possible while sitting on the long hanging pendulum seats. The Scales, and also the Cross Scales, encourage communication and cooperation.
