Originally in Greek, kaleidoscope meant beautiful picture viewer. It is fascinating seeing the images created by the Kaleidoscope. Symmetry as a word and a concept - the basic pattern of perception - becomes visible by the images created by the axis of reflection. This reflection causes moving, transparent small coloured parts to converge from two sides. This symmetry is visually not only simple duplication, but increases the impression of a whole new and complete figure. This wholeness is the open secret. The perception awakens the power of fantasy in both children and adults. A stream of ever-changing and never-repeated constellations is created with a handful of materials - a series of coincidences in the truest sense of the word.
